When To Replace Your AC Unit

HVAC  units last around 10-15 years but they will last longer if they’re properly maintained by routinely replacing your filter and getting regular service.

Repairing an AC unit requires an expert technician and you can rely on Caner Air Conditioning’s service professionals expert advice before you replace your unit. Here are some advice telltale signs your AC unit needs to be replaced:

You are not getting any cool air

Any number of issues could be a factor, from low freon/refrigerant levels to a broken compressor. One thing for sure is there’s probably something wrong with your AC. If you have a home warranty or service plan, make a claim or call Caner’s Air, located in Boca Raton, to have it checked. if the AC repair cost is more than 50% of the price of a new unit, or if the unit is extremely old, your best bet is to get a new air conditioner.

Airflow isn’t as strong as it used to be

There’s a lot of possible causes for this and it includes issues with AC damage, a blocked or leaking vent, or compressor issues. Caner Air is highly qualified to fix these issues at fair and affordable rates (and we offer 0% interest financing), but depending on the age of the AC and issue extent, you should again determine if replacing it is the best option.

There’s a leak

If you see refrigerant or water leaks around your AC unit, either inside or outside, you may have a serious issue that needs to be addressed right away. Water leaks can typically be cleared by cleaning out the drain pipe.

But refrigerant leaks are often much more extensive and adding more freon is not a lasting solution. The technicians at Caner Air are trained to diagnose the problem and give you the facts so you can make the right decision: repair the leak, replace the broke part, or replace the entire AC unit.

AC is more than 10-15 years old

Cheers! You got a great return on your investment. But the climate in the Boca Raton area is notorious for destroying air conditioning units. Salt air, high heat, high humidity, and lots of rain wreak havoc on AC units. There are newer AC models available for the Boca Raton area that are eco-friendly and energy-efficient. That can save a lot of money in the long run if you upgrade. When (not “if”) your AC break down at this age, consider it an opportunity to upgrade to an energy-efficient and modern air conditioner.

Thermostat not working

If other rooms feel nice and cool but other rooms are hot and humid, a broken thermostat might be the culprit. It may be worth having Caner Air take a look. We offer free in-home quotes so we’re happy to take a look. After all, replacing a thermostat is a lot less expensive than replacing an entire unit.

Strange sounds

Are there squealing, banging, grinding, hissing, rattling and other noises coming from your AC? If these noises don’t seem right, turn it off and contact Caner Air to take a look ASAP. These noises reflect serious issues such as a broken motor bearing or slipped belt. Not addressing these issues early can result in further damage. At Caner Air Conditioning we take pride in our work and making your home or office as comfortable as possible. We do our best to provide the highest quality AC repair in Boca Raton at affordable and fair pricing.
